Almost doesn’t count

Sounds like you were happy with the Measuring Committee. Changes have been made. Great. Glad to hear.

I know for a fact that in the years past the NBRSA rule book was not followed.

I have no issues with how the committee handled everything. Mike called me personally and let me know the results and how they achieved those measurements.

Dang, I read that in the magazine just the other day. There were no issues to my knowledge about Mike though, as I believe he was the Committee chair when Greg shot that group, I think.

The records committee is fair and impartial. It is a tough job, with a lot of responsibility in maintaining the integrity of the NBRSA.

This is a game of thousanths of an inch. As time goes by, targets submitted for records continue to be closer and closer to the current ones.

The Records Committee not only has the responsibility of insuring that targets do indeed measure small enough to create a record, but they also have the responsibility of taking the due diligence in saying that they do not.

That of course takes away from any competitors effort. Just shooting well enough for targets to be submitted for consideration is a monumental feat in its’ self, as witnessed by the Agg submitted by Greg.

It is now, but as I said eariler, there were issues before Mike took over, such as not following the rule book and even loosing the possible record targets.

That's all I'm saying.

Very well said Jackie. I hope nobody took this post as I didn’t agree with their results. I definitely wouldn’t want their job. Of course I was hoping for a record but I knew the odds of it were definitely against me. Someday, if everything somehow works out perfect, maybe I’ll have another chance at it.

Congrats, fine shooting for sure.

I'm however somewhat perplexed by this: "On the first target’s sighter, the 6mm bullet burned a hole measuring .222 and that became the standard the groups were measured with". I understand compensating for paper reaction, but why not on each target? Each sheet of target paper is potentially unique?
