As much as I don't like all the high prices, I would pay it for a 8lb. jug of what I need (8208). That would last me about 2 seasons and by that time I would hope things would at least level out.
With any luck the SCOUS will put an end to the second amendment assault this year and finally settle all the BS we all go through, loosening things up a little, but they can't stop importation restrictions. That needs to be done with your votes.

Oral arguments will be heard on the 2nd Amendment on Nov 3, 2021 and if you go to the Supreme Court site, you can listen to them. You will get a pretty good idea of the final outcome, from the questions asked by the judges. I have that day marked and reserved in my callender. I predict a five to four decision in favor of the Amendment. The only vote I am unsure of is Roberts.

They banned imported Russian ammo. Just wake up one day and read that it’s not gonna be imported effective immediately.

Almost all of our powder is imported……..
$40/lb might be high in a few years or could be a fond memory.

They banned any new permits to import. The existing permits are still good. Now if we could just get the ships unloaded.

A store in Tulsa is charging $63 for Reloader powder. One lb per customer per week, And $16.95 per hundred CCI 41's.

But not that much. I do know of two LGS that are selling all powder for $60/1 lb container and $20/100 primers.

I'm not picking on you Kracken, you were the most appropriate to quote. So the last Alliant powder I bought for my store almost doubled (my cost). Hogdgon, IMR and Western ( same company ) went up in cost about 1.50%. So what are small businesses to do? Just asking everyone, what am I to do? I figured it out, I pass that cost along without any extra mark up because it may be desirable. That is fairest thing I can do as a business owner. I can't tell you how much regret I have seen from the "ain't paying that" crowd that comes back 3 weeks later to discover it gone cause they thought they could find a better deal. Don't be that guy, use what I have told you as an FFL and a reloading shop - 60 bucks is about right for Alliant right now counting various sales tax rates. Use me as your weapon to not over spend and to spot folks that are overcharging. 2019 is gone, prices have changed.

Would be glad to see savings on 8 pounders.
Local shop has one pounds and eights. Eights are one pound price times 8.
Average per pound is $44. Dealer says his margin is unchanged, and his invoice agrees.
They did get 300,000 shotgun primers last month. Lasted almost a full day.

Know this is an old thread but just got a couple 8 lb powders from Powder Valley. Added to the hideous cost was a $20 hazadard fee and $50 shipping. Take that $465 powder jug and add all that to get over $500 per 8#.

Just paid $200 for 1000 large rifle primers.i really didn't need them and I'd bet in a month or so they'll be $90 but I feel better know.lol
It's sad remembering how cheap reloading components was once compared to factory loaded ammo but lucky me still loading 9mm,45,223 for probably $3-4 a box with old components

IMO the big retail/online stores are part of the problem as well. They issue huge PO’s to the powder makers who sell them huge amounts of loaded ammunition for non-reloaders.

The LGS and mid-sized wholesalers are left sucking hind teet.
