All The Real Snipers work at Cabelas ..

Personally, I never went to Viet Nam.....In the 1960's the Army needed my talents in other places/countries where we were "protected" by double concertina wire, cover "music", 24 hour a day outdoor high power light and MPs at the gate who checked "credentials" at the gate but were only allowed to enter the compound with escorts by certain folks. One of my younger brothers served as medic in 'Nam, but he spent most of his time patching up guys that fell out of the guard towers after getting a little to ah..."tuned up"! He is now deceased and I believe that what finally got him was exposure to too many or too much chemicals during his time in "nam.

I was lucky, I grew up in a small town and half the guys in my HS class of 67 either got drafted or joined. I ran into a couple in RVN. One on the FTA plane coming back from my first tour.
The best way to "out" stolen valor cretins is to ask them their MOS.
This is perfect. Service needs not be touted every 3rd post or brought up every conversation.
And why not? I object to your use of the word touted’. It has a negative connotation.
Is you object to the posting about service, here’s a tip: just don’t read them. Stick with barrel cleaning.
I happen to enjoy posts that wander through BBQ to history threads.
Each his own. I like Hoppes #9

I call my wife ... Maggie, when we are at the stores. That is not her real name, but, like a magnet, she attracts the weirdest people in the store.
There is invisible writing on their foreheads that says "talk to me" that only certain people see. I'm standing right beside her and are ignored haha

"Object" and "need not be" aren't exactly the same thing.

It was an observation that I stand by but wasnt meant to trigger anyone. I'll keep reading them.

My barrels are all clean and I too enjoy the bbq and history threads.

Bore Tech carbon and cu2 but I always liked Hoppes

Had a guy on a cable pulling crew about 15 years ago that was a sniper and had Sadam Hussein in his crosshair but couldn't get permission to fire. I doubt that even Cabela's would hire him.
Might get on at Bass Pro. Listened to an older distinguished looking employee behind the counter explain to a customer that a certain caliber (didn't catch it) shot so flat it only dropped a foot or so at 1000 yds. He was trying to sell a rifle, probably believed it himself. Unfortunately the customer bought it before I could get a chance to buy this magic rifle.

Look back over my previous posts and see from how many "gun shops" I have been banned. Too many to list here. Always shooting my mouth off to correct the "expert" behind the counter trying to sell some poor soul something he doesn't need...or even something the buyer can't even legally use for their stated purpose.

I’ve been around a few operators and snipers from time to time through the years. Most are quiet, don’t say a lot about their time in service. Interesting to see them in dress uniforms…some of those earned awards say more than words.

They have some of most funny stories though… mostly dark humor, but seriously funny.
