Alex Wheelers Magic Keel

Alex installed one of his Magic Keels on my rifle! I call it magic because in 10 minutes I had it tracking like a laser!
It’s a serious upgrade To the gun!

Thanks Alex! Much Appreciated!

Since I’ve started shooting long range there are a few things I’ve bought that are game changers...labradar, FX120i with Auto trickler, bench-source Annealer. Now Alex’s Keel !

OK I purchased the FX120 with trickler about 12 month ago and agree its leagues above what I was using, Lab is next on the list and NOW a rudder or maybe I just buy Wheelers new LRBR Stock?? Hmmm!!

The problem with fitting them to finished stocks is it is hard to save the finish. If it matches the contours and looks ok you can put it on anything. In a glass stock you need to have some chopped glass and epoxy to hold the thread inserts.

The rudder really Straighted Out that stock! I’ve got one of Alex’s long range Stocks coming! So put them both on the list.

masterclass 1000 older 'glass stock
kelbly's 1000

My friend and I have put them on PRT Lowboys. I have put one on a Kelbly's 1M. On the former, I got some chipping of the clear coat and minor splintering but it was achieved with some homemade fixturing and common woodworking tools. The 1M was pretty labor intensive. Rough saw, clean out foam, fill with Marine Tex, finish machine, insert anchors. I used a CNC mill for it. Neither is the best looking thing in the world, but it's function over beauty.

well...
lets look at them at the 1k and/ or 2k and you tell me what you think.
while looks are nice function comes first.
