Aftermarket AR-15 Triggers for a DPMS Rifle ?????

Good Morning, I have a DPMS .223 Remington that I am setting up to use for varmint's etc. The factory trigger is releases at 5 plus pounds of pull. Do any of you shoot a AR with a 1lb, 2lb, in a single stage or double stage? What brand have you found to be reliable and comfortable to shoot. Has anybody used the Jewell AR trigger and what are the pro's and con's. Tell me about your thoughts on triggers that you are now using or have used. Thanks, Richard

I have 4 ar-15 jewells and like them a lot and one chip mcormick and that one is single stage. It isn't bad but the jewell gives you a wide range to adjust the poundage down to ounces. I have heard the rockriver match trigger but like all of them they are just after thought drilled and set screws etc that I don't like. I like the jewells better even though they can be a pain to put in if you have never done it before. They aren't that bad just takes longer. There are others that drop in and can be adjusted like the geiselle or ar gold but like most they aren't cheap.

I shoot the AR Gold triggers set to 20 oz. I have 5.

These require some work to get to this point. Most trick AR triggers are about 3 lbs.

True, AGI has a great video on ar-15 triggers too.

Timney 3lb triggers are what I run. Crisp & clean.
I don't like 2 stage outfits on my AR15s.

I have the American Trigger (AR Gold) on both of mine. 2 stage with 1/2 lb 1st stage and 2 lb second. Very smooth, crisp and repeatable. It is also a one piece drop in for super easy installation. Didn't think I would care for a 2 stage but it changed my mind.

The LR243 install went with no problems, the .223 required altering the safety selector. The width from the round to the flat was .2365" and it needed to be ground down to .230".

I went from "stock" military triggers to Timneys, then to Geissele on all my A/R's and have removed most of them in favor of the Jewel. I use them for varmint hunting out ot 800 yards or so. I left the Geisseles on my DCM match rifles. For varmints or targets, the Jewel is the best I have tried. While it will go down below a pound, I have found that on each of the five rifles (4 223's and one 6.5 Grendel) I have the Jewels on, if I go below one pound in pull, I often get doubling. As long as I keep it at a pound, no problems. As another mentioned, they are a bit complicated to install but do not require as much (if any) of the fitting as the Geissele for superb operation. Once you figure the first one out - it is a snap to do again. The instructions are pretty good and they give you special little tools which help to make the install easier. Figure 20-30 minutes for the first one because you have to read the instructions and study the diagrams - and five for the second one if you do it again, because you can look at the one you already did. The only downside is getting a jewel trigger. For small-pin lowers, they have been tough to come across and you may have to wait unless you have a line on one. I had a few on backorder for 6 months and they came a few months ago. I still have one on order for three months now. Maybe they are becoming more available - not sure. I think they are worth the wait. I put a Jard trigger that was advertised as going down to 1 1/2 pounds or so in one of my erifles while I waited for the Jewel. O.K. trigger but hard to get used to a single stage again. If your goal is the 1lb. range trigger, the Jewel would be a good candidate.
