In building a 6-BR with a 1 and 8 twist. Why do some shooters have a compensator on the end of the barrel. What advanage is it the shooter. Also with a panda action should the barrel be straight or a Remington contour. What are the requirment for the F class. I have a Remington that has been blue printed with a 1 and 12 twist that shoots out standing. The most accurate rifle that anyone could ask for. Just wondering, I may have two in the future. Thanks for the information

muzzlebrake -- reduces felt recoil, just makes this little round even more fun to shoot, ILLEGAL IN F-Class)

f-class -- 22lb and 3" forend and someone else can fill you in on the rest of the rules

Panda barrel: I wouldnt go straight OR remmy contour -- somewhere in between

1.25 for 4-6", taper to .920 or so at 28"

although in f-class you can probably afford the weight and go 1.25 for 4" and taper to 1" at the muzzle

YMMV,
JB

Muzzle breaks work great for reducing recoil in big boomers or to be able to see your hits on varmints but they are very loud.

I shoot a little bit of F-class and see more straight cylinder barrels than anything else. There is a school of thought that tapered barrels are easier to tune but I havent tested that theory. You will want about a 30" barrel to get max velocity. Mine is 27" and I cant get the velocity that many are getting. After adding some lead to the butt for balance my rifle is about 18 lbs.

For F-class rules go to dcra.ca or usfclass.com
