With a 20 MOA base you can reach 1000 yards with many scopes. 50 MOA travel gives you 25 going up plus the base = 55. Even the 308 needs less than that to reach the thousand. I ordered another NF Competition. Can't REALY beat that glass. I know is more expensive but long term is all worth it.

True but if you had to use most of your adjustment it would probably hurt optic quality, having the scope completely bottomed almost.. I would opt for a 30 moa base in one of those lobbing calibers..

I use a EGW 20 MOA base on 2 Sightron scopes on my 6BR and .308 with no problems out to a 1000 yds. When I ordered it from EGW the technician told me that if that was not enough MOA to send it back and they would mill it to 30 MOA. I believe the price for the milling was less than $10 plus postage.
