You want a parallax adjustable scope, without it accuracy at long ranges suffer. 100 yds does matter unless you're shooting targets. At 300 it's a big deal and a bigger deal as you go out.Looking for a new scope for a hunting rifle. I plan on a magnification of around 15X at the max. So, what are the advantages/non advantages of a scope with/without parallax adjustment. Being a realist I don't plan on shooting at game over 400-500 yards.
This might be just what I'm looking for as I won't be hunting with the rifle. Rifle is going to be a gift to a nephew.https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1021737151?pid=448122
A little heavy, but a nice wide magnification range for a hunting rifle. I usually leave the side focus set for ~75-100 yards. If further shots present themselves you've usually got time to adjust, not that you absolutely have to.
