Actions for 6.5 Creedmoor?

Just wondering how the Bergara actions stack up for building upon. Are they straight and true?
There's some pretty economical retail rifles out there by Begara, some of em with pretty nice stocks. jd

I have a Bergara Premier action it’s been great with 6.5 Creedmoor, $900 for stand alone and great customer service too.

Interesting I haven’t thought of them. Thanks for the input!

Just wanted to let you all know that I just got off the phone with EuroOptic where I posted that link to the Tikka I kinda liked they said they have about 2 dozen of them in stock and they are closing them out because the new version of that model has the threaded barrel. I actually seen a YouTube of Shot Show 2025 that premiered Tikka’s new version.

Hello all,
A while back I posted about possibly building an AR in a 6.5 creedmoor but I’ve decided to change the type/style to a more tradition type but in a Boyds stock similar to what I have with my CZ Varmint @One 22lr.

I had plans of using the Remington 700 bolt action and a Lilja barrel but I’ve not found a REM 700 and I know that they are out of business from what I’ve found out. Are there any other actions only that you would recommend or suggest as alternates that don’t cost an arm and a leg? Also long or short action?

I looked at the Defiance and while they sure look nice the price tag is a bit more than what I was hoping for. Was hoping to get one in the $500-$700 range. Am I out of line on this price tag?

My primary goal is for longer range shooting for myself. I don’t plan on competing or anything just for fun but if I’m going to build one I’d like something that will work well for me.

Thanks in advance!
new tikka or older savage 110, flat receiver, rebarreled to 6.5 CM

Bargain long range? Tikka, Bergara - with the heavier barrel, Savage - get a slightly used Model 12 with the HS precision stock and the good trigger ( mine shoots fine, so long as you don't own a borescope and do own plenty of cleaning gear...)

Thanks for the info and sorry for the delayed response btw!
I have a 300yd range in the spring, fall & winter when the crops are off. I want to go out to 600yds and possibly further if I can so this is what I was planning to do with this gun.

Kauger Arms VPR. The Kauger are by far the best action for the money I tested.

I also make shouldered Prefits for the Kauger. Stainless prefit is $470. Or you can get the nut prefit for $319. The nut prefit will also fit a Rem 700.

Thank you for this! I may contact you once I get things more figured out!
Great looking action btw!
To be clear the SS PF is $470. Does it come with the bolt? Threaded or SFNS fit?

Look for a Savage Model 10, 11 or 12 rifle and use the action and bolt.

You can find used ones for around $300 400 dollars. You can get prefit threaded barrels in any caliber you want. Easy to change out because of the barrel nut.

Also most of these models have the accutrigger and can be adjusted down to about 1 LB pull. Also Timny Triggers are available for this action.

I have 3 of them in different calibers and barrels.

Thank so I’ll look into this option as well!
