Action length Tikka vs Howa vs Rem

Anybody have a side by side of the short action version of all 3 of these? (I know tikka has one length, and not the mini vs of the howa) wondering how much longer a tikka action really is.

Gonna get something in 223 just havent decided if the tikka extra length will bother me.

The bolt cycling on a tikka 223 will be much shorter than an 30-06. So the only difference is the actual amount of metal.

I have used both mid and long cartridges in the tikka and it has not bothered me. However, I do not have the exact numbers for you on how long the tikka action is.

I have experience with all three and never noticed a difference, except the Tikka is much smoother than the other two.

Also, the Tikka has a different bolt stop for 223 so it is a shorter throw than the longer cartridges.

Maybe 1" difference!

If your looking for an out of the box accurate rifle then the tikka is going to serve you well. Other good thing is they are sort of modular. Dad has a .260 which is set up as a medium length action so it has a blank in the back of the mag and the correct length by stop to suit the standard .260 OAL. The standard .260 chamber has a fairly long throat and I wanted to try some Berger VLD and get them close to the lands. With a rem or howa you wouldn't have the mag length. With the tikka I just put a 30-06 bolt stop and mag in the .260 and had room to spare and feeds perfect.

They are smooth, accurate and have decent triggers. If I was doing a budget build I wouldn't hesitate to use a howa. Cheap, integral recoil lug and if your installing a custom barrel and stock then you aren't wasting money on something that your not going to use.
