Accuracy with or without suppressor?

I'm thinking of getting one for my 6mm and/or .25 rifle.. Does using a suppressor affect a rifle's accuracy?

If made right, no but they generally increase noise a lot. A good one will mitigate recoil and muzzle rise on firing. Muzzle brakes normally do not change point of impact but suppressors do.
Edit to say your barrel threads must be in line and a good fit for them to work their best.

Not really accuracy, but it will almost certainly change the point of impact, but not by much. My 6CM shoots less than 1 MOA right and less than 1 MOA high with the suppressor. I just zeroed with the suppressor and know to adjust about 1 MOA when not using it.

In my experience and my rifles generally accuracy is actually a little better.

Sometimes it will affect accuracy sometimes none. I would think barrel contour would play a big factor.

I see this as a loaded question.
I own five suppressors and, from my experience, they can affect accuracy (positively or negatively).
The same suppressor can exhibit totally different behavior across multiple rifles. As stated above a good suppressor does wonders for taming recoil. For example, my 308 loaded with 185 Hybrids to a very healthy velocity is much easier to control and more accurate while firing suppressed. My Vudoo 22LR I have decided is much more predictably accurate on any day with any ammo than without. Same goes for my favorite AR for "drive-by" prairie dog safaris.
I know that's a lot of information that may do you no good but you really should stop thinking and get to letting a suppressor take you down the road to getting many more.

Either I shoot better or all my rifles shoot better with suppressor. Poi with/without I have seen max 3"(100 yards) from a sporter barrel, varmint contours much less. If you are traveling and need to remove suppressor, test removing and reinstalling for a zero shift( no surprise) especially hunting rifles.

I got my 1st one in April. What i noticed and expected was poi shift. On the 3 rifles ive used it on the accuracy is same. I also tested removing, trying on another rifle then back to the other one. Its all been dead on when retesting. Here is one load i was testing last weekend in my 6.5 prc. This was 3 shots and i pulled one when a muzzleblast went off next to me at the range. Now just need to sight it in for an upcoming hunt. I only have 1 right now so it will be shared on several rifles. Mine is laser welded so now worries about baffle alignment if it was able to be taken apart

Maybe I am lucky, not seen any groups get larger. Point of impact may change some.

I have not noticed any accuracy degradation on any of my rifles fired with one. All use DA Xeno attachments.

I believe the lack of drama when fired helps a good deal and there is some recoil reduction. That is never bad for accurate shooting.

It's a 1lb weight hanging off the end of your barrel. It's going to change something.


What it changes will be unique to your rifle, in my opinion.
