Mossberg was owned by remington. I suspect if you looked close that action you have is a marlin (remlin)

Alan Mossberg is listed as the chairman and Alan Mossberg jr. the president of O.F. Mossberg & Sons. Americas oldest family owned firearms manufacturer. Can't find any connection to Remington.

My oldest son took a 45-70(I think that's the caliber) and had it loved on until you could screw a suppressor on. Without the suppressor it kicks like a jackass. With the suppressor that is a hog slaying machine.

Yea i think i was wrong. I was confused with all the 783 and mossberg rifle stuff. Never paid much attention
What you need to try is to repeat each reset as identical as possible. Running a couple of dry fire cycles to get a rhythm of conditioned feel in place is a good starting point. Placing tape spotters on the fore end and butt stock such as they are will help with consistency. Just try to duplicate the position and moves with each succeeding shot. I stay as close to my normal BR style when shooting a 20" '92 and I can maintain group averages from 1.5- 2.0 inches with the 45C.

No worries. I read a LOT of the stuff on Remington and thought that I missed something. Only owned 1 Mossberg- a pump shotgun, used to call it the "Mossclub", before I sold it or gave it away. That lever they make is a whole nuther level of ugly! LOL
