AA2520, anyone use it?

Looking at reupping on some powder here very soon. I was looking thru my books and Accurate 2520,AA2520) looks like it would work well for both my .308 and my .223. Anyone have experience with this powder and these calibers in particular?

thanks,
Burnz

It should work very well in those calibers, especially the 308.
I'll assume the 223 will use it if the bullet weight is on the high side.
I've burnt tons of it in my .375 JDJ TC, and a few 6br's with 105's.

Tried it with 55 gr in the 223 with a 7 twist velocity was good but no accuracy

It is on my agenda for a tryout in the 223 with 75 gr bullets but the weather won’t co-operate. First up to knees in snow and now up to ankles in mud. I did use it last year in the 6 br with 87gr v-max’s at 3200 and under .5 at a hundred.

Tried a lot some years ago in 223 with 55's and 60's in a Holliger barreled AR and found it spikey. Things would look good, then all of a sudden I'm looking at cratered primers, rem 7 1/2).FWIW

Used to be very popular among M1a shooters; had a nickname as the "Camp Perry" powder.

Meters well, but various lots over the last few years have been inconsistent, depending on the origin. Can also be peaky in warm temperatures.

Nope, no experience with AA2520 in either of those calibers. However, I do use AA2520 with the 40 gr. Nosler BT bullet in my Savage 12VLP in .204 Ruger caliber. It shoots pretty good in my rifle.
