AA2520. 6br ??

I formed to the chamber.
Since 2520 is close to the RL 15 burn rate, I started low, and worked up powder to blow a sharp shoulder.
I got some small groups at 100yds, while doing it. I used a cci 400 primer, jammed .015” 105gr bullet.

I used this for 223 Ackely when I had one. It was great for speed and accuracy with the 77-80 grain bullets.
With powders in short supply I'm looking for a combination that will let me save some H4895 and Varget.

2520 is also very similar to Shooters World Match Rifle (D073.6) if looking for an alternative.

But SW has load data for 6br in their online manual. Might be worth checking out for a cross reference.

I, in fact am already working of 6BR data with SWP. It looks very promising too.
I was thinking, since BRA seems to like to shoot best with pressure the AA2520 might be a good alternative.
Right now it just seems to be wise to have as many viable alternative powder sources as possible.

See attached, Sierra shows a Max Load of 28.6 grains for a 107SMK with a velocity of 2700 fps for AA2520 (yes, I know you can push this faster with CAREFUL testing and load development, but obviously published data will be on the conservative side for safety reasons).

Very interested in this given I am almost out of Varget while AA2520 is much more broadly available. Can you share anything else you have learned regarding AA2520 in the 6BR?

My local gun store had an 8lb jug of AA2520. With Varget being hard to find.
I checked my burn chart and its right there. So I picked it up. I did a search on here for 6br loads with AA2520. I only got 2 or 3 hits.

Is anyone using it? What kind of accuracy?

I'm not to hung up on ultimate velocity, would rather have one hole.

Shooting a 12 twist 6br 66 to 80 grain bullets

This may be of little value to you, as I do not shoot a BR

I have used 2520 in a no-turn 6 PPC 8 twist Kreiger shooting Tom E’s 103’s. At 200, it was a force. It would hang with the rest of the crowd at a 100 but at 200, she was winking.
The 8 twist barrel was a set back from my dasher and it gave up the ghost at about 500 rounds on the setback, I have a new reamer on order, and a couple of barrels ready to go.

If I found a jug of 2520 at a local shop, it would be in the cave.
The burn rate is very close to 4064/varget.
