The AA-2520 you buy in the US is not what we call AA-2520 in Europe. Most AA powders were made by Explosia SA in the Czech Republic until a few years back when Western Powders bought the operation out. Western already had the Ramshot, entirely ball powder range, all made in Belgium bar 'Silhouette' and 'Competition', a pistol and 12G shotgun / target pistol types respectively. (They come from the Primex St. Marks Powder Co. plant in Florida used to be Olin, and which makes nearly all Winchester ball and Hodgdon spherical types.) These powders were marketed and labelled up under the Lovex name in continental Europe, but as Accurate Arms in the UK - used the identical labels in fact.
Western with its links to the Belgian manufacturer sourced the AA ball powders from it rather than the Czechs after the takeover. So, it won't be too surprising if some 'new' AA powders are similar / identical to Ramshot models. Having looked at the online datasets for Wild Boar and AA-2520 for a couple of cartridges, they're close but not identical, although that may be a lot issue, or tested at different times in different pressure barrels.
We no longer get the 'US AA' powders in the UK irrespective of where they're made, but we do get Ramshot Wild Boar alongside all of the other Belgian manufactured Ramshot lines. We also still get the Czech powders which are labelled up as a mixture of their European designations and the old AA number. So the AA-2520 we see is actually Lovex DO-73.6, although it comes overprinted or labelled as AA-2520.
There are two points to this ramble. (You wondered, didn't you?)
1) If you're in the US, your AA ball powders are all Belgian and are allegedly very clean burning, consistent between lots, and temperature insensitive. They're made in a modern plant and are highly developed to meet military requirements. Old stories refer to a different set of powders even if they had similar burning rates and performance - in fact two old sets of powder as the original AA powders were made in Israel by IDI (Israeli defence Industries).
2) If you're in the UK, your AA powder may be a bit different from those on the US Western Powder / AA website, close but maybe not so close as to use identical loads. You can also get the 'new AA-2520' (Belgian manufactured), or something very similar to it, from or via Henry Krank in west Yorkshire under the Ramshot Wild Boar name - a powder not available (or not in that name, anyway) in the US according to Ramshot's website. Having tried it, it does burn a LOT cleaner than Lovex DO-73.6.
