A Word About Donations

AMEN to what Jim said. This site is truly a god-send to shooters. I am sending some more pictures of dead presidents in continuing support of the site.

I think that given the competitive nature of fellow shooters, the indicator for SITE $$ CONTRIBUTOR should be changed to represent levels of contributions. Levels could be set for one $ sign, two $$ signs, etc.. and then maybe a bag of GOLD symbol for large contributors. I am sure that we would all see the rewards of any extra contributions that this may bring. The staff at this site truly puts out an awesome product!!

Thanks to the staff. And thanks to the many contributors of the wealth of info we have available.

Paul and Jason,

I have enjoyed this site for a few years now and finally got around to sending in a small donation. I will send more in the future to help keep this wonderful resource going.

Thanks for all the effort you put into maintaining one of the best sites on the web.

Best regards,

After all these years of almost daily reading of this wonderfull site, I made a (small) donation today.
I learned a lot about precision shooting and the Daily Bulletin help me to keep updated of what happens on the shooting world.

Thank you very much!

Paul, Why is the site $$ contributor no longer listed under my name, I see that it's shown under other members names, I'd truly appreciate it if you would see that it's reposted. I'll be sending my annual donation.

Regards
RJ

a small donation is definitely worth the time and effort these good people spend to make this site what it is. My money is on the way!! Lee

First post, got to admit I am one of the 1,000s that visit daily. Info articles are great along with the daily bulletin. I come here and read and learn more than any other site that I visit. CHECK IS IN THE MAIL

I see lots of folks here that enjoy the site offtenbut don't have the $$ by their name. I know this is a free site and of course all are welcome. But like so many others here that do contribute, it's nice to know that the person you are about to buy something from or sell something to, is a contributor. I have been on this site for a few years now and I sent my $$ every year to help out with the site I consider to be the finest on the web.

Happy New Year to one and all

Doug

Ps, If you are in the currently deployed and want to contribute and can't afford it, please send me a PM.

Doug

Did't realize the time and expense involed in operating a site until reading this thread today, and had this idea. Everyone has some shooting stuff they have no use for anymore, a set of dies they no longer have a rifle for, a box of bullets they tried but didn't work out or maybe some brass they don't need anymore. Why don't we list it in the free classified section with a note that 100% of the money goes to this website. Maybe even have a thread deicated to this, kinda like a pay it forward, only it would be a pay it in. Buyer gets something he would have bought anyway, seller gets rid of something collecting dust and this site gets a few $ needed for operation expenses. It could be a buy it now or best offer. Lots of possibilitys.Payment could be made directy to the site through their paypal account. What is your thinking, will this work? I'll look today for things to post. Ron

Yep, am aware that paypal works to make donations here. I love the idea that folks seeing the need for services like GunPal taking action to provide it. Another is http://www.armslist.com/, like a Craigs List for guns. Big link ya got there SD :)

Hey toodogs, it worked, just sold some 30 cal. bullets I no longer need for $35 on the classifieds here to "SHORTACTION". He is sending the money staight to the site. Maybe some more stuff will get donated, if not at least a few $$ is headed their way. How did you come up with the nick name toodogs?

I made a donation awhile back thru paypal but it did not change my status. I was also wondering what the green stars were for? thanks c

i made a donation from some of the money i received from the sales i made on this forum hoping it would change my status. since i mostly read and not post, i look like a super newby. i hope i'm not!! i think when people see your a site contributor they know your a bit more serious about your sport and appreciate this great forum. hope the green stars show up soon. I just sent in $50 and would like to point out that you can add comments to the transaction. It might be easier to link the user name and payment this way.

I'd also like to suggest that maybe a list of new products you'd like to review be maintained. If you can't get a loaner from the company I'm sure one of us would like to purchase it and let you do the review before receiving it.

I visit this Board very frequently and have gained a lot of valuable information. I want to continue to support this Board. I'm the kind of guy who needs reminders, especially on things that I do only once a year like my donation to this Board. I checked back in my PMs and found that it was way back in October of 2009 that I made my last donation. :-[ I am a bit embarrassed that I have sluffed off and not sent in another donation before now.

Just a suggestion, but is there any way you can set up a notification system to let contributors know when they made their last donation?

My donation is on the way and I will include my user name in the cover letter I send with my personal check. I can't tell you how much I really appreciate all of the helpful information I get from this Board. I especially like the Daily Bulletin!!!!! :)

Has this idea taken off and I have missed it? I think it is a great idea as I am always browsing the classifieds and sooner or later will have those items SlurpinDog spoke about.

I have browsed several sites on gun related issues, and have found yours to be the best I have found; I have no problem donating money, and will do so;
I do take exception to the PAYPAL/EBAY crap; (they are anti-gun);
I am a new member of only two days, and your site has been the EASIEST, and SMOOTHEST to join, and use;
I will gladly donate; not sure about all the good, and bad I see about donating, but problems do arise; I will donate
