...the Rem/age 25CM barrel is a'buildin'.
I bought the new-to-me Rem. 700 SA BR rifle...
...without a barrel because I would be rebarreling it immediately.. However, I found I wanted to shoot it for the two or three (I hope!) months it'll take the new barrel to get here.. The barrel mounted on it was too fire-cracked to be sold, so I'm now waiting for the owner's 2nd and 3rd barrels to make their way to west Tucson to be evaluated.. Meanwhile I've already plotted some initial loads with 130gn. bullets*--Berger H. OTMs, Hornady ELD-Ms, and Sierra Tipped MKs--and powders I have.. I'm also researching loads containing fewer than 50 grains of powder to preserve barrel life.. Based on the dozen-or-so sources I've found, I have plenty** of the three powders at the top of my list, RL-16, '19, and '26.. Already had a Forster BR/micrometer seating die; a Redding FL bushing die will be coming with the barrel.. I'll post a few pics soon.
* Do recall that I'm 81YO and have had three surgeries on my right shoulder and so I'm a recoil-wimp.
** Of course, virtually all active reloadists believe that there's NO SUCH THING as having too much powder or too many bullets, cases, or primers.

A new/old 'Rem/age' rifle for me, again in 25Creed
Called my BR-shooting guru ('Wambo') about how my Savage 12BR has been an almost-good-enough rifle for me for maybe a dozen years but not one I've ever been satisfied with.. IOW, it's been promising, but it never delivers on the promise.. I asked if a Rem. 700-based BR rifle should be better...
