A MIRACLE!

About a month ago, I pulled my 300 ultramag barrel off to send it out to get threaded. I was nervous about shipping it after reading all the posts about damaged and lost items that have been posted lately. So, I double boxed it and decided to ship UPS rather than US postal.

The package wasn’t delivered on time, and several days later UPS tracking said “all merchandise is missing and the empty carton has been discarded”. I was depressed immediately and have been ever since. I tried to file a claim, but UPS customer service said that I couldn’t file a claim unless the packaging was available for inspection! I explained to them that THEY THREW AWAY THE PACKAGING! That didn’t matter, that was their policy. I was angry now too, on top of depressed. UPS sucks with respect to honoring claims, they have never been honest or reputable about them for me.

I spent the last few weeks trying to figure out what to do. Rebarrel? What caliber? Sell the action, keep the stock and trigger for a different rifle? Miserable.

This morning, the mailman shows up and drops off a package. IT WAS THE BOX THAT WAS INSIDE THE UPS BOX! SOMEONE FROM UPS TOOK MY BARREL AND SENT IT TO ME VIA US MAIL! OMG, I CANT BELIEVE THIS HAS HAPPENED, AND AM HAPPY BEYOND WORDS!

THANK YOU GOD, AND THANK YOU TO WHOEVER AT UPS DID THIS FOR ME!

This is why a second label inside the box securely attached to the item is important for expensive things! Glad to hear that it worked out for you in the end!

They threaded it 1/2x28 when he wanted 5/8x24. Left hand too.

I live just outside of a small town in Iowa. The USPS and UPS places are great to deal with...then go 1 step up...

Glad to hear your barrel came.... my lost barrel showed up without the box it was in, no name, nothing. Surprisingly it was also undamaged and shoots excellent

I'm taking no chances, i have 2 barrels to send to the smith to chamber, sending separate, double boxed, insured +. to make a claim, you need original receipts, proof of drop off and patience. I'll still worry. plus insist the smith do the same on the way back, and still worry.

We shipped a lot of Contender and Encore barrels.
Write address on tape stuck to barrel.
Into PVC pipe with address.
In USPS box with address and shipping label.
Only lost, obviously stolen package cut open. 6.5-225 Winchester AI. Find ammo for Thai!

Shipped a stock blank Phoenix to Tucson not in box, wrote address on it. PO taped their sticker to it.
