Based on the way the paints worn off under the motor pulley, it looks like that’s not the first time that fix has been done.

Back in the days of V-belts, I was always surprised how far people “limped in” on whatever they could find to tie around a set of pulleys. Only to be out done by those who drove around until it was “convenient” to get a real belt out on.

I just keep extra o rings on hand. The old rings (if they're not broken) are great for setting your tumbler bucket on its end. Especially if you get some water on the floor.
