Ole VolDoc was hoping to spend a "Quite Afternoon"
at Moonshine Mt. wring out the new rifle "Blue Bug"=
Well as usual nothng is easy anymore as I had a Killer
Load with some Old Old Orange Box Berger 115's probably
made in 2007== lot # 560 = my new lot was # 2876 0r something
like that=
You guessed it=
the bearing surface on the new ones was .040" longer and would
not shoot w/o too much pressure and groups were pitiful=
after cussing for a hour or so Ole VD deceided to try to figure it out=
I backed up the load about 1.5 grains and seated them about .025"
deeper in case= after many combos= I hit on another sweet spot=
first load= 3,030 fps=
new load = new bullet= 2,950 fps=
accuracy almost but not quite as good=
about 1/3 MOA to distance=
Then this guy showed up just past the 200yd Backers=
I have not shot a GHog in many many years = well
just had to try the new 115 Berger Hunting Match Bullets and
He-She said Bang= Flop= He's or She's a Gaint=
After hauling Grover the GroundHog back to the Shootin' Shack
I felt remorseful and wished I hadn't killed him=
Not many GH's left here anymore because of Coyotes=
