Aaron, on my fluting programs I do run a sub routine that is called up 6 or 8 times
depending on the number of flutes needed. Same with barrels. On the muzzle brake holes I wrote the code for the first two rows of holes. As the first row has 4 holes and the second row has 3 holes. Offset from each other. As the brake is on an angle I run a R- command in the drilling cycle, to keep from drilling air due to the part dropping away. Machining from front to back of brake. My 4th axis is driving the indexing head with a little drive shaft. Set up is very easy, not having to tilt my 4th axis. Cycle time is 5 minutes 45 seconds to index and drill the 42 holes. Not to bad. I drill with a 3/16 ball end mill, so center drilling is not needed. End mill will do about 3000 holes or so. Fun stuff!

Neat!
I didn't know you could drill with a ball end mill!

Ice kept me home from work today, and i still learned something.
Win, win!
