A Different Chambering Method

Heck...given the application, it will probably be just fine. Points given for the best floating reamer holder ever....kinda' like neck turning. :)

If the initial hole was good for diameter and straight, the reamer will want to follow it.

I knew a fellow who had chambered several barrels using a floor mounted drill press with a center mounted on the table. He held the barrel with his hand. He did use oil though. WH
 
his method is okay but needs to be improved. The drill and reamer should be under the barrel , this way the chips will fall out and you can fill the barrel with dark cutting oil , helping everything stay cool .
Heck , he could do 10-20 an hour , IF his hands hold out

Vice grips on the barrel would help with hand fatigue.
