A&d FX120i question

I’m looking for the height of the FX120i scale with V3 powder measure mounted on top. I saw a dimension of 18” tall.. Is this dimension correct as l’m planning on putting the unit below a shelf at my loading bench which is at 18”. Would like to know if it will fit or do I need to raise the shelf. Could someone who has the newer setup please verify.

With the new bigger powder hopper it is right at 18". Removing the hopper lowers it to about 11".

I got an extra cup when I ordered my V4 and scale. Not sure if it’s really needed but I saved the shipping and there’s always the risk of dropping the original.

I’m fine with the glass cup. I don’t need the Seal Team 6 stuff from Area 419.

Just for a clarification, it sounds like you get the glasss cup if you order scale and auto trickler together. If you order just the scale itself then you need to purchase the cup.

An extra glass cup may speed up the weighing and loading process. You can file the handle if necessary to make weight match the original cup or glue on weight if its under the original. They both need to weigh the same to make the scale read zero and start the drop process.

I bought the glass cup when I bought my scale. The high sides of the cup are probably a good thing to prevent splash out when used with the whole combo, but I prefer to use a regular pan from a rcbs scale with mine since I’m throwing charges with a manual powder measure and trickling with a dandy.

Myself, I get frequent “splash-out” when using the shot glass that came with my Autotrickler V3. this is with magnum rifle powders.

I recently bought the Area 419 pan and cup to hopefully mitigate the problem. Haven’t tried it, yet, though.

My V3 lives under a shelf that is 18 1/4 high. I pull it out when I use it.




I also have made a cup that is much lighter than the glass cup. I made it from stainless steel shot glass I found on Amazon, Soldered a light metal handle to it. It is tall, just fits under the spout, and does not splash out grains of powder.

I also made a powder funnel from a stainless funnel I found on Amazon. uses KSMetals,com telescoping brass tubing to bring funnel to size of brass mouth. Mine fits my 6BR, 22-250 and 223. It is smaller, and just right to fit on cases in a loading block.

Not for me. I'd love to have some plastic cups and an additonal holder from my V2. These were very light weight and the replaceable cups a positive after crud accumulation. Proably allow an addition 75 grains of charge weight to be dispensed.

I ended up adding weight to one of the glass cups, various bits of copper shim and other strands copper. Shaving might have been better, but the 12 grain or better betwen cups is a lot. I haven't tested consistency recently, still moving into a new place.

I use two glass cups that weight the same. Easy to just shave some of the plastic handle and
or add some ballast...sure speeds up the process and works well.

I would think that a bit of handle shaving and fine tune with a small piece of scotch tape on the side of the glass cup, I would trim with a razor knife to the exact weight desired.
