9 twist 6.5 creedmoor anyone else?

Hi everyone just purchased a custom tikka ctr with hawk hill barrel in a 9 twist. Was wondering what weight bullets are working for you if you have the same? Bought for a hunting gun. Have an ar in creed also criterion barrel shoots under 1/2 but weight is over 15 with atacr and bipod. That’s an 1:8. Bought some 127lrx going to try once I empty som 140 hornady hpbt’s with it? Freezing cold here in Minnesota now and deer season is keeping me from target practice. Let me know! Thanks

Would definitely probably stick with 130-135 or less but I had one that was an 8.5 twist and it would stabilize the 140 Eld and the 140HPBT and shot great as well. So I guess u wouldn’t know until u were to try.

Don't waste your time with the 127 LRX.

Bullets I'd recommed for your 9" twist....

Hornady - 123 & 129 SST - 129 & 140 Interlock BTSP

Nosler - 120 Bal-Tip

Sierra - 130 hpbt Gameking -140 btsp SGK

Speer - 140 Grand Slam

Any of those bullets will drop a deer as fast as the rest.

Thanks for the reply. Basically looking for a non target bullet with a fairly high bc to harvest deer size and under game. Like 120 gmx? Anyone shooting these? Terminal performance and accuracy in same twist?

Hey Zero333 don’t waste time because the bullet expands more slowly or because you feel they won’t stablize? Just saw what Barnes expander 12ga. 438grain slug did to a dandy 10pt. Drt 60yards?

127 gr LRX is too long for a 9" twist and even if it stabilizes it might not show good accuracy.
I find Barnes mono bullets work best at high speed.

If you want to shoot a monolithic, I'd recommend the 100 TTSX.

A 9tw may not get you the maximum BC from a 140, but they'll likely still shoot well for you.
