243ai bullets for 1-9 twist

I just bought my first 243ai.(not here yet) Its a savage palma rifle rebarreled with a 30in cbi match barrel 1-9 twist. I was told it was setup for 105 amax. If, in fact it shoots the 105 amax great, should it also shoot the 105 vlds. Lots of different options on bullet weight & twist rate for this caliber. Thanks Dar

I have a 1/8 243ACK and it will shoot 87 gr VLD's all the way up to the 105VLD with outstanding resuts. Yours might shoot 95gr VLD's better than 105 with a 1/9 it will be close

Please post your results. I have a 243 in a 9twist I am getting ready to work up some 105 a-maxs myself.Will let you know how they do.

Mines a 9.25 or 9-1/8 and it shoots the 105 hornady match pretty well so far. Also shoots the 85s awesome with almost no load work

My .243AI is a 9-twist Hart Barrel and it basically shoots anything in the 105-108 range pretty well. 107 SMK's around 3100 work quite well.

That's good to know I have wondered just how heavy a bullet I could shoot with my 9twist. I will have to try the 107s now. Thanks for the info hopefully mine will do that good!!!

The way things have been I would not blame you a bit if you bought 6000 of them. I sure hope things get better soon. Good luck finding what you need.
