9 twist 22-250

The 50 grain V-Max from, a 14 twist at, 3,550- 3,600 FPS, Max velocity, Produces "Splodies" that, can be seen from, a Braked, 24 inch, 8.5 pound, .22-250 Rem., Rifle,.. thru,.. a 20 X scope.
It's my Main ( Holy Grail ! ) Sage Rat, Load from,.. Here on Out ! ( Downloaded a Bit, With, H-4895 or, IMR 4895 )
Guessing that, you "May" want to reduce, the Velocity "some", in a sub 9 pound Rifle, IF you want to SEE, the "Splodies", in your Scope.
Is your Rifle,.. Braked ?? How Heavy, is it ?
Rifle weight, Velocity, Bullet Wt, type of, Brake, etc are All Key to, light, Muzzle "Jump"/ recoil and seeing,..
the Fun, thru the Scope

Mine is a Savage 112V Series J single shot with SSS trigger. It weighs a bit over 12lbs with a 26" barrel wearing an AB Raptor 10 w/reflex for suppression.

My New Tikka T-3 Lite 1-8 twist, "Lefty" .22-250 is, "Here" and scoped / Modified,.. ready to, go !
Just came into, a good Deal ( Traded off, my old .45-70 Brass / Bullets ! ) for a bunch of, 69 grain SMK's !
Thinking to use up, my old, IMR 4350 at, 36, 37 and up to 38, grains ( 3,200 -3300 fps, range, hopefully ?? ).
Read that, the 69 gr. SMK's are easy to get,.. "Good Accuracy" in, the .223's and .22-250's !
I'l start, the Bullet .035 off the N / S Junction and move Forward AFTER Finding Best group's with just, the Powder "Testing", First ( Testing every 1/2 grain starting at 35.5 gr's, IMR 4350 up to 38 grs ) then Bullet "Tuning".
This load will Be used mainly for, Steel Plinking to, 600-700 yds and any Yotes that come,.. In Range.
Anybody ever, use THIS "Combo" or, the 69 gr SMK's, in the .22-250 ? Thoughts,...

I did a little shooting with the Sierra 69 tmk in my tikka '250 before I could get my hands on a box of the 77 tmks.
I used H4350 @ 37.0 grains, I was disappointed at the velocity - 3220 fps but they shot fine. I killed one ground hog with it, that's it. The 77s and StaBall6.5 got me 3250 fps.
I also loaded the 65 grain Sierra spbt using the StaBall6.5 and got 3460 fps, they shot pretty good. I'm not sure why I haven't shot them more?
Looking forward to hear how your Tikka shoots Lefty. Mine took about 100 rounds to "settle in"
I also bedded the front of the action in mine, it seemed to help.

I Have a couple hundred of, them, Too !
I Have about, 4 to 5 Pounds of, IMR 4350 that, I want to Shoot Up, before trying, the 69, 75's & 77's with, StaBall.
I use StaBall 65, in my, 6 XC w/ 107's / 108's and 6.5 Creed w/ 130's & 143 grain ELD's ( Very Accurate, loads ).
I'm Not, real worried about, getting Top Velocities, JUST want,.. Accuracy ( I can Dial, a Few Clicks on Scope ).
My Action and Recoil Lug seem Tight and Freefloat is "Good" I'll shoot / Test before doing much extra, to it.
Have a LimbSaver, New Trigger Spring set @1.25 pounds, Cheek Riser all set up and the Scope's, On !
Test fired, a few rounds and everything seems to Check Out, okay,.. so Far !
