How do they do on Prairie Dogs?I measured 3.065 to the lands in this rifle with a Sinclair tool, and it was the best group. The rifle does better with 105 Precision Ballistics VLDs.

Just recently re-chamber a mcgowen 26” 1:8” twist from 6br to my 6bra with .150” free bore. Shoots 87 vmax lights out with 36gr of cfe223 at 3350fps. Repeated two .25moa five shot groups at 200 yards and have been putting the rest on fur with no problems. Great use for old BR/fclass brass and barrels!
I want to, but always afraid of having to remove live round in field and sticking proj and dumping powder.Has anyone tried shooting the 87 vmax well into the lands? Like hard jam?

Agreed. Totally. Had it happen twice. Puts a major damper on a poodle shoot.I want to, but always afraid of having to remove live round in field and sticking proj and dumping powder.
A 6 XC with .030 Free Bore is well worth the price of the reamer. I hope to be giving you some data soon, 55-75g bullets in Peterson brass.
And they shoot reeeeely good. The best launch I ever saw though, was on a video......68 or 69gr Berger shot from a 243AI. Dog was launched so high it went clean out of the camera's field of view, had to have been 10 or 12' in the air.I made some 60/65g off of J4 jackets, and I did not point them up all the way, playing with different size of HP. The p. dogs just detonated, like a paint ball on a flat rock!
