87 Vmax for Pdogs Opinions Wanted (and go!!!)

I measured 3.065 to the lands in this rifle with a Sinclair tool, and it was the best group. The rifle does better with 105 Precision Ballistics VLDs.

How do they do on Prairie Dogs?

The best aerial show I have seen came from the performance of a 243 Ackley pushing ye olde Hornady 105 A-Max boolits. Boy, oh boy, was that a show. I quit shooting and just spotted and ranged for those prairie poodles just to watch Ted greet them from a distance. I only wish I caught all of it on video.

My 6BR shoots 85grn Sierra varminters exceptionally well 1-8T krieger barrel.ive shot crows and rabbits 500+yards,devastating on foxes and great on deer to.i recently built one for a friend
1-8T Bartlein barrel and he shoots 65grn v.max..super accurate and really tears foxes up.

Just recently re-chamber a mcgowen 26” 1:8” twist from 6br to my 6bra with .150” free bore. Shoots 87 vmax lights out with 36gr of cfe223 at 3350fps. Repeated two .25moa five shot groups at 200 yards and have been putting the rest on fur with no problems. Great use for old BR/fclass brass and barrels!

I want to, but always afraid of having to remove live round in field and sticking proj and dumping powder.

I would be sure to use enough neck tension to avoid that.

Agreed. Totally. Had it happen twice. Puts a major damper on a poodle shoot.
