87 or 70 grainers to f.form 6bra brass?

Anyone use the lighter cheaper bullets like the hornady 87 grainers or the even cheaper tnt 70 grainers. At $12/100 it could be a fun bullet to shoot as well. I just wanted to make sure I was fully fire forming the brass.

I'm sure it will work. I always FF with the same bullet I will be using, FF loads can be accurate as all get out, albeit slower.

I agree. It's also a good time to find where the bullets want to be seated. Buddy of mine finally shot his one br-improved barrel done with our reamer with the load I told him to shoot. Shot a 1.3" at@500 at the last ground hog match. Small group of the day. Isn't that right @jghoghunter lol.

If there’s something that can be taken away from fireforming loads I’m all for it. Would you use a 6br charge weight with varying seating depths?

My reamer has a little more freebore than most on here, and tends to be a tenth higher charge then most. For a forming load I use 105s and 29.6 grains of h4895 with a 450 primer. Thats whats worked in several of my barrels and @jghoghunter 's as well with the same reamer. 29.8 and you will get a little bolt lift. So I load 29.6 and find your seating depth until it drills a hole at 200. All with a jumped bullet. If jamming you would likely have to start lighter yet.

Edit: By the time you have all your cases formed on a new barrel, youll likely have retune/tweek it anyways. So it makes sense to me to find a forming load, form cases, find a fully formed load, and be happy. Take the opportunity to learn something from every bullet fired through your barrel.
