I ran 800+ rounds into pdogs Friday & Saturday not including what my pal ran through his rigs, which would put our count closer to 1300+ easily. We had a great time on top of that watching flying p-dogs consistantly. Friday was 730am to 715pm, Saturday 730am to 3pm due to late afternoon storms coming in. Gobs of mounds with 8-11 pups on them, ground crawled with the little rats as well as fat adults. I shot over 20 just around a big that Hawk landed to feed on 2 of them as the pdogs popped up like perfect targets barking at it until it had its fill and left.
Both days I kept the barrel cool enough with my wrap and lots of water with the spray bottle.

I run a .223, pal runs 2-223s, 1 22-250 and a 204.

Very nice! Glad you guys had a good trip. You really should try out a 204 for your self. I resisted for a long time. But last year i gave in, life changing!

"cool enough with my wrap and lots of water with the spray bottle" - stuff needed for hot barrel. I stock my rifles with a 1/16 plus inch gap between barrel and stock, enough so I can get a wet doubled up paper towel between stock and barrel. The water evaporation cools stuff down good. Inside, I can only imagine what the wear is like.
