80 grain SMK's seating depth

Do the 80 gr SMK's prefer a long or short jump or into the lands ?

All of my 223 rem rifles have like .020" jump to lands. AR15 and Barnard 223rem ftr rifle.

This bullet is very jump tolerant. I set mine .025 off ( like pretty much everything) but it does not really matter a lot.

0.010 to 0.030 off is where I have had the best luck.

I loaded these seating depth tests CBTO 1.894, 1.884, 1.874 and 1.864. The two depths that shot the tightest groups were !.894 and 1.864 the other two were not even close.
Why does .005 off and .030 off the lands shoot great and the .010 and .020 off not so good ? Its like two different seating nodes.

I ran them 10 thousandth off to start in XTC competition, with an AR match rifle, if my throat wore to 20 thousandth off, that was fine too.
