80-90 GR BALLISTIC TIPS?

I have had good results with Nosler B/T 50 grains in my 22-250 & in my hunting rifle 30-06 . Anybody shot 80 or 90 gr B/T in the 6BR. Have a 1-10 Lilja shoots the 80 Fowler /Berger excellent. Just playing with different loads

You may want to try the Sierra 80g Blitz Boat Tail, they are an unreal accurate bullet in my guns! They really blow the crap out of varmints, in other words, they are very humane.

Thanks for the input Keith, I will try the Sierra's. Should have bought stock in copper & lead years ago, might have paid for my habits by now

Highly recommend the 80g blitz sierra as these would be my next choice if I ran out of 75 vmax in my 12 twist rifles.Should still perform in a 10 twist if not better I would imagine.I dont often read many using these heads perhaps because it aint got a ballistic tip? Pick up a box you varminters next time your shopping and you may be changing your regular head.cheers onehole.Oh! one thing to bear in mind is that these heads have a pronounced boatail and if you are already stretching to get close to lands you may not get enough in the case for a secure hold.onehole.

Where are you finding these 80 gr. blitz by sierra.
I have never seen them and so I just went to the sierra
site and low and behold, they don't list them.
What up???

Demitrios,
In my 10 twist 6br the 80 grain Noslers shoot almost as good as the 80 gr Bergers with the 75 Vmax running a very close third. I don't think the 6br has enough poop for the 87gr Vmax for anything but paper at long range. In my 6 Dasher 8 twist that is another story however. First place goes to the 95gr Moly Berger second place trades off between the 87 Vmax and the 80gr Nosler BTBT. On Tuesday 01/02/07 I shot a true one hole three shot group,bi-pod rest) with the last two with the nerves enlarging the group to a ho hum quarter size group the load was
34.0gr of Data 74 behind an 87 Vmax and have had similar results with the 80gr Noslers. What I like best about the Noslers is you can buy "seconds" at http://www.shootersproshop.com/ for half the price of the Bergers and for volume shooting at long range they can't be beat.
As an aside Shootersproshop also has/had 22-250 brass, I like the Nosler brass almost as well as the Lapua)"seconds" which with Data 74 and 50gr Noslers makes my junkyard gun shoot as consist ant as my $5000 switch barrel.

Thanks, for the reply on the ballistic tips I will try the 80 grainers, can you tell much difference between the seconds? Is it cosmetics or what on the seconds. I am not familiar with the Data 74 powder:confused:Just trying to decide whats best between the 80 & 90 gr Ballistic Tip. I know every rifle is different. One thing I have noticed with the nosler brass is the flash holes seem egg shaped / elongated? Its a little disappointing for quality control.Haven't mic'ed any yet or really inspected them real close. I am shooting Lapua Brass in my 6 BR, 223 & 30-06.I have been shooting Federal brass in the 22-250, but recently bought some Nosler brass for the 22-250 & 30-06
