I am hanging out down here in my loading room looking at a new action i have sitting around doing nothing and i cant really come up with anything to do with it except build a ground hog match rifle. I have a 6br and a dasher so i am wanting to do something a little different. I was first of all thinking about a 30x47 lapua for the bigger holes it makes on the scoring rings, until i was looking at a Berger bullet chart and i noticed that i can get a 140gr 7mm bullet with a pretty decent BC. Better than a 30cal bc anyway. I would have to go up into the 175gr class of 30cal bullet to match the 140gr 7mm bullets performance. You know that brings up another issue itself. A 140gr 6.5mm bullets beats them both by a considerable margin, but you would have to give up some on bullet diameter. So heck i dont know what direction to go? Has anyone here done a 7 mm x 47 lapua with the 140gr bullets? Fellas like i said im just thinking out load here. I am in no hurry to do anything. I figure i need a couple winter projects so that is my reasoning for all this. Plus i do intend on participating in the ground hog matches the varmint hunters association puts on every year in indiana. Lee
