+1 for about a million times.
You'll have marginal luck with necked down 300SAUM,
but even the brass you do find will be sub-par. Remington brass is ok, but ~1 out of 3 gets a loose primer after first or second reload.
I'd recommend the .284 for ease of parts availablility.
BTW, 180gr Berger can be loaded to 2.820" (short action). I have one and it loves the 180gr bergers (so much so that its starving while I look for more).

My comment above on bolt removal relates to standard bolt action configuration, not Eliseo. Why Eliseo? Just curious. I have not seen many on the line in our neck of the woods and not seen anyone win with one as of yet.
