7mmrsaum reloading info

H-4831 will give a tiny edge in velocity, but I prefer H-4350 with weights from 120 up to 168..
H-4831--- start -56.0- max---60.0
H-4350--- start -52.5- max---55.5
Just be careful and work it up....

H1000 64.0 to 66.0 but work up slowly
If your looking for slower burning powder to give longer barrel life. H1000 works great in my 6CM and 260.
Shoot Strait teele1

Just started doing load development.
61.4 gr H4831SC and 162 A-max looks good. .005" off lands. This load is over Hodgdon's Maximum load of H4831.
65.0 gr H1000 with 180 Bergers looks good. Just kissing lands.
Both using CCI BR-2 primers.

I have some H1000 loaded for the 162 A-max bullets to try but need some decent conditions to try them.

Follow Preacher's advice on working up load.

Sorry for the hijack. I've just started working up loads for my 7saum too. Any comments for 130gr SMK's? Do I really need the heavier bullets for 600 yard?

In my magnums and my 6cm I shoot H1000 or Retumbo, did want to try Retumbo in the 7mm rsaum with the 180 jlk's. If any one has something in that powder please let me know. All ya'alls load info has been appreciated. Will try some of them,if not all. Thanks

Yes personally I do believe you do need the heavier bullets for 600yd unless you are shooting varmints. For target shooting the higher BC of the heavier bullets will be a great benefit, if you are shooting big game the higher SD will be better along with the higher BC.

I did get a chance to try the H1000 with the 162 Amax and it I think it looks better than H4831SC. With limited testing, ES was extremely low and accuracy very good at 66.8gr H1000 with the 162 Amax.
