This year I decided to revive a Remington model 7 that has sat I the safe for a few years. 18.5 inch barrel in a old b&c stock. Running nosler 120bt with cfe223. 47.3 gr at 2940. I forgot how eat it is to load for. I really don’t don’t know why I went away from this gun it has been so easy to carry it seems every load shoots minute of deer accuracy.

I have nothing to add except my load is 42.0 of Varget, Winchester case, cci 200 primer and Hornady 140 SPBT into the lands. I have had very good luck using the recommended loads on the 7mm guide on the accurate Shooter cover page

So I just acquired a Tikka T3 in 7mm08...I wanna use it this weekend in Ny deer opener...give me your favorite load recipe let me know if I'm in the ballpark....I'm using 139 sst bullets and H4350

I've killed many deer with a 7MM-08 as has my son. Our load has always been a Sierra 160gr Game King hollow point boat tail with Varget.

I've used a .270 with 130s for whitetail for several years on and off. I've also used the 06, 308 and 284s with heavier bullets into the 180 grain range. While all kill very effectively, that 130 from my 270 always anchored every deer hit on the spot. Bullet recovered on the opposite side under the hide. The animal always got the entire energy from the round. Most others were pass thru shots when heavier bullets were used if the shot was broadside. The 7-08 with 139/140s for deer is ideal when used within their effective range. Same result at the tried and true 130s in my 270s. It just seems to be the ideal bullet weight for deer size game. Can't see using a 284, 280 or any of the 7mags with that light of a bullet when the 7-08 works so well with it. I shoot the 160 Nosler partitions or 162 ELDs with the 284 with excellent results also. The 7-08 will send those down range very well also just not quite as far effectively.
