So I just acquired a Tikka T3 in 7mm08...I wanna use it this weekend in Ny deer opener...give me your favorite load recipe let me know if I'm in the ballpark....I'm using 139 sst bullets and H4350

This combo worked way better than it should in a 26inch 10twist
Lapua Brass
BR -2
IMR 4064
140 vld
Isn't 2000mr even slower burn than H4350?I think 4350 is too slow for 140 class bullets in the 7-08, at least it was for me when I tried it. I haven't done any work on my 7-08 in yrs since I worked up a hunting load and loaded 60 or 80 rounds for it (last basically for ever)
I'm running 140s at ~2900 with 2000MR.
H4350 with a 139SST, or 140gr BT is perfect.I think 4350 is too slow for 140 class bullets in the 7-08, at least it was for me when I tried it. I haven't done any work on my 7-08 in yrs since I worked up a hunting load and loaded 60 or 80 rounds for it (last basically for ever)

Yeah, that might be bit hot!H4350 with a 139SST, or 140gr BT is perfect.
The 48.5gr seems a little high to me.
22.4" barrel...50 is max in hodgdon manual 48.5 I get no bolt lift at all 50 it was ever so slightH4350 with a 139SST, or 140gr BT is perfect.

With how long of a barrel?
Not a 22" hunting barrel, your not!
Peterson brass...it's really full and I'm using a drop tube and a slow pour...I haven't worked much with the 7-08...so I'm not sure how it'll shoot...it seems like most guys are using something like Varget with a 140 class bulletWhat case are you running? Using Lapua, I had to use a drop tube when approaching 48.0 gr. It was pretty da*m full! At any rate, sounds like you worked up and know where your max is.
The burn rate of 2000MR is faster than H4350 but I think slower than Varget. Alliant 2000MR is much finer so you will have no problems getting to max velocity with it (just don't try to over do it). The only issue with using 2000MR will be that it is very temperature sensitive. Temps for my hunting season can be sub-freezing to 65 degrees and I want first shot kill zone impact every time. From competition with 200MR in the past I will say I had to deal with day to day impact changes that were not at all what I would want for my hunting rifle.Isn't 2000mr even slower burn than H4350?

I thought about the new 6.5 staball powder it seems to get really good velocities in the 7-08I didn't see the variations being bad enough to be a problem for hunting. I shot up about 20 lbs of the stuff about 6 or 7 yrs ago. When I ran the powder in F-TR it would shoot tiny 300 and 600 yard 5 shot groups, but 20 shots on target at 1000 yards I'd get 3 to 6 high flyers in a match. When it pretty much cost me a shot at the state championship I went home and did some more detailed research. Running some long strings over the chronos I figured out that I was getting the occasional +20-50FPS load. At 1000 yards shooting at a 10 inch 10-ring that translated to a dropped point. At 500 yards with a 140 gr 284 it's about an inch and a half. If you are shooting ground hogs I can see it maybe being an issue but on deer it's never been problem.
