7mm wsm on 98 mauser vz24 action

would you put this combo together or would there be to much chamber pressure

I have heard that the mauser will do 65k and the 7mm wsm factory load is about 62.5k

Is that enough room in the pressure differance to be safe to shoot.

i've seen 98's chambered for 300 wetherby so i don't see why a much shorter cartridge would be un safe______treeman

A 7mm Rem Mag will work on a VZ 24, and it will be a bunch easier to get to feed. Even Winchester could not make the WSM's feed in a controlled feed action. They had to invent the "controlled push feed" action to handle the short, fat rounds.

It's your choice, but you may end up with an interesting single-shot.
