7mm SAUM with 160 Grain Accubond bullets

I need some help; I'm thinking of having a barrel chambered in 7mm SAUM for deer hunting. My question, is the 7mm SAUM SAAMI chamber 0.090" freebore ideal for the Nosler 160 grain Accubond bullets to be seated at the neck shoulder junction on the brass? I have a Curtis AXIOM short action, Hawkens Precision Oberndorf BDL Bottom Metal and a Wyatt's MBE-4 magazine kit for this build.

Thank you in advance.

I have a handful of Nosler 160 ab on hand. When I seat one in 7Saum brass to just short of the cannelure the full bt is BELOW shoulder/body junction. The overall length is 2.790 @ that seating depth, same as factory Rem ammo with the 160 partition. However the cbto is .0260 shorter when the AB is seated this way. I didn't have any 160 AB without a cannelure, max length I can load is 2.950 ish with my Sendero(I altered the bdl mag to get an extra 0.10). A neck/shoulder seating depth, the AB would be 3.00 coal, which I couldn't use in my hunting rifle, pretty sure I would be well into the lands with the bullet at that cartridge length. Checked with the AB(factory Rem) bullet is into the lands(stopped by lands) at 2.978 coal.

The basic answer is simple:

Subtract 2.035" - 1.538" = 0.497" (length of neck and shoulder)

Bullet length = 1.410"

Subtract 1.410" - 0.497 = 0.913" (bullet length minus neck and shoulder length)

Add 2.035" + 0.913 = 2.948" (add case length plus projection bullet length)

Simple math shows that with your bullet choice seated to the shoulder/body intersection creates a COAL of 2.948" which probably does not fit into your standard box unless you use the additional expense of a new box, follower and spring.

Ya'll ain't seen simple and basic at its most simplest till ya'll read this: Make a dummy round of what you want and send it to the smith chambering the blank. Now that is simply, "Custom"! :p
