7mm rsaum detachable mag on long action

My son has a long action Remington chambered in the 7mm rsaum to shoot the 180's seated out. He was looking at the HS precision 3 round clip and bottom metal. I was wondering if anyone has dealt with this combo and could help us out on which HS mag we need. They offer the 300 Winchester and the 300 ultra mag clips to possibly choose from on our application for the 7mm rsaum. The 300 ultra looks to be more of the straight case size as the 7mm rsaum and was wondering if this one may be the ticket. I'm going to give HS a call and see what there recommendation is as well. The Rsaum is just a shortened version of the ultra, that will be the mag you need.
Good thing his gun is on a long action, not many mags out there for the short mag.

Thanks for the reply. I talked with HS and they also make a lip tool to make adjustments on the box lip as needed and if still have any issues cycling they will modify clip with a spacer to fix me up. They seem to be familiar with this setup. Thanks

If you can't find an HS setup, Cabela's has a Kwik Klip that works great with RSAUM cases. It only comes in long action configuration but it feeds my 6.5x7mm RSAUM very well. It will only hold 2 in the box so that is a drawback for a hunting rifle. One nice thing about it is that it is only about half the price of the HS bottom metal. I didn't need to adjust the feed lips. Just bolted it in and it worked as is. Good luck on your project.
