7mm PRC components

Educate me. Is this the same thing as the 6.5 PRC necked up to 7mm that some have been playing with?

It’s not, the 7PRC uses its own case, takes a long action, mag bolt face to run it.

I have had chamber issues with 2 Christensen rifles now. Very inaccurate, and their customer service was not very great. They definitely use the "barrel break-in" procedure to cover their ass. Would recommend you get a reputable gunsmith to build you what you want.

Saw a riflesmith this morning and started talking about building a 7mm PRC, dual use (tactical & hunting) of course i'd get a muzzle brake since all the reports say the recoil will be in the mid 20# range.
Does anyone know if there is a stock manufacturer that makes something like a Gracoil recoil reducer used for shotguns?

Redding told me that they are making 7PRC dies currently. However, there is no stock number yet and you must place an order for their custom dies through a stocking dealer.

I heard the same thing from Redding.

I’m considering this caliber but even after dies and components are available powder will be an issue. I was reading it likes H1000 and Retumbo - both ridiculously hard to find last 2 years.

My son just scored 3 Boxes of, Horn 175 gr ELD-X's ( At $49.00 ea ) from, a D & B Supply store in Kuna Idaho.
He said that, there were several Horn Die sets, on the shelf. He's waiting on a Sav ultra Lite W/ a 22" Proof Barrel in 7prc but, already has, a PVA 3 Port, Brake for it. I told him to, WAIT for,.. Forster Dies.
I did see 180 gr Match Bullets somewhere,.. Precision Reloading , maybe, IIRC ??

Yes, ShootBot has been a great help with all this component drama.
I don't like adding apps to my cell phone, but the Telegram notices came fast enough for scoring some things I didn't have but wanted to try.

Might also, look for / try some,.. Hogdon H-4831SC for 175-180's and soon,.. the NEW, StaBall HD.
The 7 PRC is nothing more than, a much BETTER Designed, 7 MM Rem Mag,.. BUT with, NO Belt , very little case Taper, Longer Neck, etc ( Hornady's gettin' their Chit together on, Cartridge Design, lately ! ).

Hornady, as a Company HAS Hit,.. 3 "Home Runs" in a Row so Far with, the,..
6.5 Creed, 6.5 PRC and Now,.. the 7 MM PRC
Tho with only, slight Modifications, of other Cart Designs,.. THEY,. "Work" very,.. well !
And good Marketing, doesn't Hurt !

I actually have 4 lbs of 4831sc. midsouth has had 8 pounder’s lately too. H-4831SC is faster than H1000 but I have good luck overall with it in 300 wm. Here’s a good write up:
