7mm BR - what was its intended use

Hey guys,

I have come across the odd mention of this round - mostly when guys have been forming 6mmBR.

So, why did it never take on and why was it developed?

It was designed for handgun silhouette shooting. Perfect for that in my opinion. Also a good short to medium deer round.

What would you consider a short deer?

2' or so measured at the shoulder?
