what should I do ?

ever since I have read the article about the 284 WIN, I have been in love, I really want to build one for sure, so the question arrives, should I sell my RPM XL 7mm TCu to fund one? I really want to build one and the 7mm tcu has started to bore me 'no pun intended'. is the 284 all that and a bag of chips or should I build a 6.5X 284? I am more or less looking for a new somewhat long range Mulie/Antelope round and a good BR round. I really like the article about the 284, and have never had one. what say you fellas?

Go for it Build a 284, you only live once. You will have it all for long range Hunting and bench Work.
168 grn bergers with 55grns of H4831sc pushing it at 2950/3000 fps Oh Happy days :).
You will be a Happy little bunny with a 284.

Mulies and 7mm, Great combo there.

In a properly built custom rifle I dont think you will go wrong. Go ahead scratch that itch.

I personally would still go with the long action, like all my big game hunting rifles. Everyone makes a big fuss about short action this and that. The ole Long action still gets it done with plenty of room to spare.

The stock 284 barrel will outlast the 6.5x284 by a long shot...
I shoot the 162 Amax with very good results in my varmint rifle, and 140 Ballistic tips in my hunting 284XP-100... Neither has ever let me down...

What about 284 AI ???? is there such a thing, would it be worth it or is the 284 Win neck already degree'd enough for it not to really matter?
