Does anyone have a load for the 7mm-08 using either the 110gr or 120gr TTSX from Barnes. I am looking for a relatively light recoil load for my son who is recovering from back surgery. I have e-mailed Barnes but I am still waiting for a response, so an info will be greatly appreciated.

here is some info for reduced loads using H4895 powder . it's not showing the barnes bullets , but it does list a 7mm-08 load .

In the 308 with the 130 I use 40 grains Varget. One thing to be aware of...the short Barnes bullets need to be slightly crimped or they walk. You will ove the barnes for light and fast and good deer shooting. I love the 130 in the 308.

Yeah man, Varget.
IIRC, I was runnin' 44.0gr with moly'ed 120TSX and getting 3125. Necked down Lapua .308Win brass, WLR primers. That is over book max & with moly coated projos, so use your head, back off several grains & work up safely...

With the 120 ttsx, RL-15 has worked well for me.

43-45 grains will usually be the sweet spot.

I'm at 44.3 grains, running 3,000 fps, from a 22" Bartlein.

I'm sure Varget would also work well.

Thanks for the info and a good starting point, this should be easy since I have all the powders mentioned. My son drew a 3rd season rifle buck tag so he is pumped, first year hunting and drew a good tag for our area. Thanks again guys
