7br to 6 br

A guy offered me some unused 7mmbr Remmy brass in the old remington box for $20. Is it too far to neck down with the 6br sizer? What could i use between them to get it to 6mm? Or should i pass, i passed once because i thought it was too much but the guy keeps asking if i changed my mind considering the price of 6br brass.

Don't see why it cannot be sized down to 6mm. No different than when we size 6BR down to 22BR, 20BR, and up to 25, 6.5 & 30 cal. If it's new, unfired should not be a problem.

I got a couple of 7mm br cases just to see if it would work, it was a big no. It sizes the neck half way down it, then crushes the shoulder. It will need to be stepped down. Oh well.

I use a Redding body die (now) to take 284 Win down to 6 mm in 1 pass (using Imperial sizing wax), then anneal. No issues.

Biggest issue will be the new thickness of the sized down necks. They might not even fit into your chamber as loaded without turning the necks.
It makes no sense to buy 7br brass for use in a 6br, as there is plenty of 6br brass available.
