73 gr Amax

Has anyone tried these bullets in a 223?

Hornaday has discontinued most of the Amax line of bullets. The website currently only lists 30 caliber 168s and 50 caliber 750 grain Amax's. Unless you have a bunch of 73s in your possession it may not be worth while to go to the trouble developing a load for a bullet that may be impossible to find. I wish i had some 6.5 caliber 140 Amaxs they shoot as good as Bergers in my 6.5 rifle.

Are they 73 gr eld's? I'm not familiar with Hornady making 73 gr A max's.

Hornady made the 75 gr. and 80 gr. AMAX bullets but they haven't been manufactured for a long time.

If 73 gr. is correct for .224" bullets then you're looking for the ELD-M bullets.
