heavy bullet in 223 1 in 9 twist ??

What is the heaviest bullet anyone here has found
that will shoot with laser accuracy in a .223 with
a 1 in 9 twist..So far for me it has been Berger 73 gr.

Mine like 80gr. Nosler Custom Competition 1/4" groups at 200 yards. Savage LRPV.

I once shot a zero [.084" 5-shot] group shooting Ronnie Cheek's 63 grain .224" Flat Base bullets in a Douglas XX air-gauged--1 in 9--26" barrel. The whole rifle, a Savage Model 12 VLP had been tricked-up as some might say. The load made the difference. Not Laser accuracy but I was pleased with the results. :)

With my old SPS-Tactical 20", 1:9 I was able to get "bugholes" regularly with Berger 73 gr. With 77's the groups at 100 yards were OK but were more like "shotgun patterns" at 300 yards.

That old barrel is probably in the "scrap stack" at our local Barrel Maker's shop about now. Expect a 1:7 barrel in a month or so so I can shoot heavier bullets. Longer barrel too.

Most accurate bullet I have shot is the 69 Sierra Match King with Varget but it is out of my 9 twist Bush Master AR. ;D
