70 grain in 8 twist 22-250??

Folks
Just bought an 8 twist 22-250 Tikka Lite
I’d like to try 70 grain bullets for coyotes.
Has anyone used the Speers or Nosler RFD pills? Are the NOSLER’s suitable for coyotes?
Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.

Your 70 gr RDF with a 9 twist would get an SG of 1.46, and with your 8 twist it will be 1.84 so no problems there.
A Speer 75 GoldDot with your 8 twist will have an SG of 2.16

I have not run the 70 RDF at all. I have run the 75 GoldDot in several places but never used one on a coyote.

Soup, My Tikka 22-250 is loving the 77 grain Sierra TMK. I’ve shot it on paper and steel to 500 yards so far and it seems to hold up well.
Only killed a fox and a big doe so far, it put the fox right down and the doe stumbled about 20 yards. I’ll take the Sierra over the Nosler or Speer. The 80.5 grain Berger shoots well out of another 8 twisted 22-250 that I have but I haven’t shot anything with it yet.
Good luck with your Tikka

Are the Nosler's suitable for coyotes ? To answer your question, I would say no coyote would care to see or feel one enter their body, at all.

This is coming from a guy that hunts exclusively with match bullets.

The Nosler RDF is a terrible choice. I got a load together in 22x47 and took it out. I thought I missed the first two coyotes. (I miss one about every 4-5 years.) The third bit his shoulder. I needed up shooting him 4 times.

DON’T. They DO NOT work.

Try the 69 TMK or step up to the 80.5 Berger.
