7 WSM action help

I'm looking at building a Long Range BR in a 7WSM and 180gr Bergers. I'm partial to Savage actions and i like the idea of it being a single shot, but my friends say to use the Remington 700. Could a Savage Target action be used for this caliber if the bolt face is changed, or is the Rem a better choice. Thanks for any help.

If your plan is to build a competative rig, I would go with a custom action. By the time you buy your action and have a reputable smith do all of the accurizing, square and true the bolt face, bush the firing pin hole, square the action body, true action threads. Mill and lapp the lugs. After market firing pin and springs for faster lock time ) you will have spent what it would cost you to buy a Stiller Preditor. Plus you'r action will actually retain more value, important for resale )
Stock Remingtons and Savages are nice and will do for a local club competion. As a matter of fact, both have won a fair share of matches.
Do yourself a favor and get a Stiller Preditor, a Wyatts extended box, a Jewel trigger and a custom barrel of your choice.
The 180 Bergers should have you at an COAL of close to 3.00' and the package I mentioned above will work very well.
I in fact have that same combo with the exception of the Wyatts box, I opted for a Seekins WSM extended box with a detatchable mag.

Go with a Stiller Predator, they are AWESOME! Here is a picture of my custom 6BR with a Stiller Predator.

That sounds like the best idea, how long did it take to get yours.

It took about three months. You'll love it. I use to use BAT and Nesikas, but I got sick of paying $1500.00 and waiting 6 months. My accuracy with this rifle is unbeivable, here are some 5 shot groups at 100 yards;
