7 MM Rem Mag Powders

Hi Guys
Wondering if any one has a powder they like to use in 7 MM Rem Mag?? Currently I'm using IMR 7828 behind a 160 Accubond with less than desirable accuracy and velocity. The rifle has been glass bedded and free floated. Is there a powder out there that traditionally gives good accuracy and velocity with this round?? Thinking of trying Win 780. What say you guys??

Several more to try... RL25, RL22, Retumbo, H4831SC, H1000. I've had several 7RM's that I just couldn't get to shoot the 160 Accubonds for whatever reason. I tried hard as I really like the bullet, but ended up having to find something else the gun liked.

I've had extremely good luck with RL-22 and 160 AccuBond. It does good on elk also.

IMR 4350 has been a good powder with the 160gr SBT in several rifles. I use IMR 7828 with the 150 nosler Bt in one of my 7 rem mags. I'm using H1000 with the 168 Berger VLD hunting bullet, CCI 250 primer in my newest rifle. Work up and see if your rifle will take 70.5 gr, that gives me 3050 ft/sec. I use winchester brass.

For the 160gr class of bullets, IMHO Re25 is the one to look at. If you go to reloadersnest.com and checkout the loads with that class weight, several have tried several powders and have agreed that Re25 seems to do the best.

in last 4 7mm mag I have loaded for we use h-1000 and 180 bergers. we are getting 2950 with 67gr of it. set up brass at zero headspace. shoots bugholes and right on at 1400yds. this as far as we can shoot right now at end of range.

Mike Walker developed the 7 Mag with IMR 7828 which had a much slower burn rate than current lots.
Believe he used 175gr bullets, maybe some 160s.

I don't know about the Ab, but my Remington shoots sub-minute with RL25 and 160 Partitions.

Ditto: Re-22 under 160, Re25/H1000 for 162 and up. 67 grains of H1000 and a 180 Berger getting 2950 fps that's pretty impressive? ???

For me, RL22 and Retumbo work very well, I didn't care for H1000, but I think it was just the gun at the time.
